Tournament Registration & Division Policies
To Register for "MARCH
MADNESS" Saturday, March 25th --> REGISTRATION
FORM (no payment)
NO-SHOWS
Any registered team who does not show up without calling/emailing to cancel
prior to the tournament, will not be permitted to register early for the next
4 tournaments. The team will be allowed to play in those 4 tournaments if they
arrive at check in time for their division, and IF there is room.
In addition, a $10 penalty will automatically be added to the next tournament entry fee, league entry fee, or open play fee for which the players want to participate. The $10 penalty must be paid before players can participate in a tournament, league, or open play.
WOMENS AA ELIGIBILITY
For the first three 2006 tournaments all girls (Women!) can play
Womens 'AA'!
Beginning with the April 8th ('King / Queen of the
Beach') tournament teams/players who wish to play in the Womens AA division
must meet at least one of the following criteria.
Eligibility
Criteria Includes:
1.) A team/player who has won several 'AA' matches
in either the February 25th, March 11th or March 25th tournaments at Third Coast
may play in 'AA' as long as they continue to 'compete' (meaning continue
to win some games in 'AA').,
2.) Teams who won a 2005 or 2006 TVA (Third
Coast/GCVA-Galveston) Womens 'A' tournament, -or- placed 2nd in an 'A' division
with 7-10 teams, -or- 3rd in a division with 11-13 teams, -or- 4th in a division
with 14+ teams.,
3.) Teams/players placing 1st or 2nd in a 2005
or 2006 Lone Star, Yucatan, or Tour of Texas Ws 'Open or AA' tournament. A 3rd
& 4th place finish will qualify a team if the tournament was large or exceptionally
competitive.,
4.) Beginning with the April 8th tournament (Queen-of-the-Beach),
teams/players not meeting at least one of the Eligibility Criteria listed
above and registers for Ws AA will be added to the Ws A list of teams/players.
5.) Exceptions may be made to these criteria at the Tournament Director's discretion. If there is a question regarding your team's/your own eligibility, please contact us PRIOR TO THE TOURNAMENT. play@thirdcoastvolleyball.com
We reserve the right to determine who is eligible for all divisions in every tournament! The Tournament Director's decision is final. If you have a question as to the division(s) you are eligible for.....please ask..... before the tournament.
Players must remain competitive (meaning win some games) to continue playing in future Ws AA divisions.
NEW! Ws Open Eligibility. To be eligible for Womens Open, teams must have made it to the playoffs in a 2005 or 2006 Third Coast Ws AA tournament. (Winning a Galveston Ws AA or A tournament makes teams eligible for Ws AA - not Open!)

competitive.,

Beginning with the April 8th tournament (King-of-the-Beach),

above and registers for Ms Open, will be added to the Ms AA list of teams/players.
5.) Exceptions may be made to these criteria
at the Tournament Director's discretion. If there is a question regarding your
team's/your own eligibility, please contact us PRIOR TO THE TOURNAMENT. play@thirdcoastvolleyball.com
We reserve the right to determine player/team eligibility for all divisions in every tournament. The Tournament Director's decision is final. If you have a question as to the division(s) you are eligible for.....please ask.
Players must remain competitive (meaning win some games) to continue playing in the Ms Open division.
REGISTRATION
DEADLINES
The following registration deadlines apply to all tournaments.
Teams/players registering after the deadline may not be permitted to play if,
1- their division is full, or 2- by accepting the team(s)/player(s) the start
of the tournament would be delayed. The final decision is made at the Tournament
Director's discretion.
The ONLY way to be assured a spot in a tournament is to register before the deadline. It's really not that hard to do! Click here to register.
Morning check in tournaments -- 5pm the day before the tournament.
Afternoon/evening check in tournaments -- midnight the day of the tournament.
NEED
A PARTNER?
If you need a parnter for
a tournament, please let us know! We can post your name/email address in the
Tournament Schedule/Registered Teams section on this
web site, which is where everyone looks for updates the days/week before a tournament.
We can also post a phone #, but we must have specific permission for that.
We have found this to be a very effective way for players
to get matched up. For best results, be willing to be listed as a potential
partner in several divisions! Once
the information has been posted on the web site, it is out of our hands and
up to the players to contact each other. Once a team has been formed, register
that team using one of the four methods of registration.
ONLINE REGISTRATION
Teams can register on this web site without having to pay for their entry fee!!!
It's very easy. All teams registering online will receive a registration
confirmation. If you do
not receive a confirmation, your team is not registered. We do not recommend
signing up online the day before a tournament. In that case, phone in your registration.
(This form is the same one we have used for the past few years.)
COMPLETE TEAMS CHECK
IN
Complete teams (all players are present) are
checked in first. After all complete teams are checked in and the check
in time has past, no more teams will be added. In other words, if you are late
and we are finished checking in your division, you will not play in that division
that day.
READY,
WILLING & ABLE!
During a tournament, if a team is not ready to play (NOT
ready to warm up.....ready to PLAY!)
7 minutes after the previous match ends, the team is charged 1 point per minute
until 5 points are accumulated. At that time, the game will be automatically
forfeited. We wait for no one!! Warm up on the side or on the grass.
NO
SAND-BAGGING!
This is when players/teams deliberately play in a lower division to
either have an easy day or just to win.
This is not fair to those who play in the appropriate division, and it
is not the intended spirit of our tournaments. We
reserve the right to determine player/team eligibility for all divisions at
all tournaments. The Tournament Director's decision is final.
REVERSE SAND-BAGGING
This is when players sign up for divisions above their skill level. (ie: 'BB'
players may not play in 'AA' or 'Open' divisions. Weaker 'A' players may not
play in 'AA', some strong 'A' players may <we will make the call on a case-by-case
basis>). We appreciate the fact some want to 'play up', but when too many
players do this the need for different divisions is eliminated. We
reserve the right to determine player eligibility for all divisions at all tournaments.
The Tournament Director's decision is final. If you have a question as
to what division(s) you are eligible for.....please ask.....before the tournament.
