BUD LIGHT TEXAS VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHP
at
Chevy's Freedom Over Texas
on July 4th!
The
day couldn't have started on a more shaky
note, with torrential rain pouring an hour
and a half before the first Semi Final match
was scheduled to start. We almost floated
away just parking our cars! Since weather
is always a factor for Beach Volleyball
everyone went on as if nothing was wrong
(most of us, anyway!). Teams warmed up in
the hopes some blue would peak through all
those rain clouds. Finally it happened!
The sun came out in full force about 15
minutes before the Dallas & San Antonio
guys were to take to the court and heated
things up on and off the court the rest
of the day!
By
the time the Womens Finals started, the
hill at Eleanor Tinsley Park was packed
and Sam Ogden had the fans completely into
it! The team representing HOUSTON (Anne
& Erika) had the crowd in the palm of
their hands! The SAN ANTONIO team played
their hearts out, but couldn't stop the
South American express! When the Mens Final
started there was not an empty patch of
grass to be found.
This was probably the largest crowd we've
seen for the Bud Light Texas Volleyball
Championship since it started 4 years ago!

Although feeling like a buck fifty intead of
a million bucks, Sam Ogden
performed his magic on the mike all day and
kept us both informed and laughing the whole
time!
